Why am I self-destructing?

I lost a good chunk of my selling week to blind rage towards an SVP who vultured into my business and stole one of my team members for a position outside my team.

Said SVP didn’t notify me.  Said SVP told rep to “keep it quiet” and “not tell anyone”.  I found out about her new role on an open conference call the day it happened.

Rules — which once outlined an 18-month period for a rep being off-limits to moving between teams and now outline a similar 12-month period — are apparently out the window.  She’s been here 10 months, and yet starts 12/1.

After I led the “Region of the Year” in 2006 and 2008 with two different teams, said SVP was directly involved in giving each team to another manager in the following year, leaving me with a new mess to clean.

I am not paid to be “Turnaround Guy”.  I have unattainable revenue goals which he pads quite comfortably for his own safety.

There are quesitons I need to answer, including:

  1. Why am I completely consumed by this jackass’ behavior?
  2. Do I really want to bring an associate/colleague/friend into this company?
  3. When will I finally learn that a company which behaves this way once will behave this way again and again?
  4. How much startup capital do I really need to bring that new business idea to fruition?
